The John Muir Trust connects people to and campaigns for wild places. They deliver the John Muir Award, which is a programme that encourages young people to think about the natural environment. We’ve worked with the Trust before and delivered activities with our member schools. Our new Outdoor Learning Instructor, Maire has been working with schools since September and is leading the project.
YogaBears aims to introduce yoga to young people and teach them the benefits it can have. We funded taster sessions within our member schools, which some schools continue to practice.
Transport Amateur Boxing Club
Based in Everton Park, the boxing club have worked with us for a number of years as part of our holiday activities programme. This summer, kids from our member schools had access to weekly boxing lessons, for free.
Peloton are all about creating a good cycling culture. We’ve been working with the team for the past four years delivering our holiday activities programme. In July, we jointly hosted a summer school for young people. They provided the activities in the BMX Box L5 and we provided the grub.
The Shewsy run activities for young people in the Everton community, a community we are working with more and more. We’ve put on BBQ for the participants of their Fun Run.
A charity based in Merseyside who work with children and adults to teach them about nature and bush craft. Most recently, we facilitated a session between them and one of our member schools, St Ambrose Catholic Primary School.
We’ve developed close links with the Climbing Hangar to promote bouldering within our member schools. In October, we hosted an inter-school bouldering competition.
The centre is based in the heart of Anfield. We’ve worked with them as a venue for our annual girls football tournament. This year, our 7-a-side girls football tournament took place on the 9th July at the sports centre, where we provided the refreshments
