Growing Culture

We’re taking learning outdoors.

Our mission extends far beyond serving good food. We engage and teach pupils and our community about the important connections between food and the natural environment.

Our Outdoor Learning Instructors facilitate the John Muir Award programme at our beautiful site in the Everton Park Nature Garden.

The award encourages groups, families and individuals of all backgrounds to connect, enjoy and care for the natural environment. So far over 700 pupils from our member schools have successfully completed the John Muir Award.

Alongside running the John Muir Award, our team have been transforming the Nature Garden. It continues to be an evolving project, but we are committed to creating a space in which pupils from our member schools can benefit from learning in an outdoor setting.

We are extremely grateful to the Community Payback Team, part of the National Probation Service, who support us in transforming the site and we welcome volunteers who are looking to spend some time in nature and connect with the outdoors.

Food For Thought’s schools programmes are exclusively available to our member schools. To find out more, download our programmes brochure here, or email office@fftliverpool.co.uk
