Classroom Lessons
Grow With Us: Classroom Lessons
Science, food and sustainability – all in the comfort of your classroom.
When it’s too wet, cold, or windy to get outside, we bring food growing indoors. These practical, curriculum-linked science lessons explore the life cycle of plants, the importance of food systems, and how to grow your own food — no matter the season.
Sessions can be booked as standalone lessons, perfect for enhancing science, geography or sustainability topics.
Lessons include hands-on investigations such as:
- What’s inside a seed?
- How do plants grow and reproduce?
- How does food get from soil to plate?
- Why is growing food important for our planet?
All equipment, soil, seeds and resources are provided — and pupils take home something they’ve planted.
These sessions also offer a meaningful way to embed science learning into real-life contexts. Pupils build enquiry skills through hands-on experiments and observations, helping them better understand plant biology, lifecycles, sustainability, and food systems — all aligned with national curriculum objectives.
What our schools think…
“The children… loved how practical the activities were. They were engaged throughout and learnt some interesting facts along the way.”
